People of the world have come together many times in the past, most notably for sporting spectacles such as the Olympics or the World Cup. In 32 days something special is going to happen, people of the world are going to come together not to compete against each other - but to meet each other. At 1800 GMT on May 10 four hours of film will be broadcast through television, online streaming, mobile streaming and live events worldwide with one intention ‘to strengthen tolerance and compassion while uniting millions of people to build a better future‘. Everyone knows that coming together is a good thing so the more the merrier.

The event is called Pangea Day and is the brainchild of Jehane Noujaim, the director of Control Room. To learn more you can watch a 25 minute talk outlining her vision for Pangea Day on ted.com (which is still indisputably the best website in the world) and visit the official website. You can even host your own Pangea Day event.
