Day 41

Atapuerca is quite a simple village where they had a big archeological find a few years back and they found the remains of a neanderthal - a discovery that seems to have put the town on the map. We met an interesting italian man who we shared dinner with. He was walking mostly at night time and trying to balance his buddhist and catholic beliefs. He had crossed the pyrenese in the middle of a storm at night and spoke about how walking forward when you couldn’t see what was in front of you was symbolic of faith for him. He left for Burgos shortly after dinner.
